Robert is a self-taught artist who paints naturalistic animals. He creates his works in watercolor or acrylic, depending on his mood or subject.
It is a hyper-realistic art technique that requires precision in the smallest details to accurately reproduce the subject, such as anatomy, habitat and behavior.
An important part of the production is researching the subject, be it books, the Internet, observations in nature and photography, in order to take into account all aspects.
The work is formed in his mind several months in advance, based on observations of nature. Then he tries to transfer this image to the canvas as accurately as possible. The design always begins with a very detailed drawing of the subject and finding a good composition.
His inspiration is drawn from his immediate surroundings, and his subject is always nature and animals.
Perhaps following Leonardo da Vinci's advice to "imitate the qualities of the forms that nature creates", he focused on carefully observing animals and birds and meticulously depicting them in their environment. The changes that are currently happening in nature are having an impact on wildlife. Diversity and survival are some of the main concerns of this species.
He hopes to use his art to draw public attention to the beauty of the wildlife that surrounds us and to which we pay little attention.
