Maria Cristina Cerminara is a multidisciplinary artist who has worked in recent years mainly exploring a combination of painting, photography, drawing and various artistic techniques.
She lives and works in Rome, where she was born.
In her words about her work:
"My research is based on paradox, play, irony and the exploration of reality through its contradictions.
I use a combination of different visual languages.
My mixed media images often begin with painting and creating objects.
These objects and designs are ironically related to our body and our daily rituals.
In the universe of stereotypes and coding, I like to play games with the concept of “normality.”
Moreover, I am interested in exploring the concepts of "beauty", "love", "nature", inspired by ancient classical Mediterranean cultures, mythology and the art of the Italian Renaissance"
