Janna Kumi is a Dutch-born Canadian artist based in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
She creates deeply detailed drawings of tree bark using colored pencil on paper and wood.
She characterizes her work as an emotional response to the function, form, and patterns found in small, overlooked components of the natural world.
She studied Fine Art at Emily Carr University and received her BFA from the University of British Columbia.
She has received two Canada Council for the Arts grants (2019, 2021) and is AFCA certified by the Federation of Canadian Artists.
Her work has been collected throughout Canada, the United States, and Europe.
